City of Reno, Youth City Council
The Reno Youth City Council is a group of youth ranging from ages 14-22 who plan events and activities for the youth in Reno and provide input to the Reno City Council regarding youth issues that relate to the City of Reno.
Police Jr. Cadets
The Washoe County School Police Jr. Cadet Class is open to all High School students registered in Washoe County School District. Students in the class program can learn about Law Enforcement and earn high school credit at the same time. The class meets on Monday nights at 6:00 p.m. At the end of each semester, students that complete the requirements will receive ½ credit from the supplemental credit office. Reno Bike Project

FutureCycle’s curriculum teaches and develops:
● Bicycle maintenance skills, including parts and tools mastery
● Specialized retail skills & industry-relevant knowledge
● Customer service & sales skills
● Interpersonal and communication skills
● Transaction & Point of Sale system skills
● Job interview and resume building skills
● Safe bicycle riding & commuting skills

Exploring Program: Students can learn what it takes to make it in the challenging field of Law Enforcement. Law Enforcement Exploring offers young men and young women ages 15-21 the chance to experience law enforcement career opportunities.
Boys & Girls Club: The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows has the following volunteer and community service opportunities:
American Red Cross: As a Red Cross volunteer, you can help people displaced by disaster, or go into schools and show children how to prepare for a fire. You can teach CPR and First Aid, or go out into the community spreading the Red Cross mission. Most of all, Red Cross volunteers help save lives and what could be more fulfilling than that? Discovery Museum: The Discovery has a very active team of volunteers who contribute their time and talents to support the museum’s educational mission. They are looking for volunteers who want hands-on training and experience working with kids with disabilities and mentoring from their friendly staff and college interns.
